It’s midnight, and I should be in bed. Yet I sit here with thoughts in my mind of our broken world. Day in and day out, we seek to hurt one another; we all bleed red and should do better. We see the same sun rise, the same sun set.

We’ve allowed ourselves to be divided, conquered. We have turned complacent with the little precious gifts that we have here. Day after day, we give up pieces of ourselves.

I have this mantra of mine that I’ve carried for many years, which seems to fade at times, but surprisingly, it also grows closer to my heart:

“The little things matter most! “

The way I see it is in doing the little things correctly consistently. We allow them to grow stronger, wiser, and healthier. It’s never easy to do the right thing. Or should I say, it’s not as easy as we think it ought to be. But doing the right thing is good. So I’m going to keep trying despite the heartbreaks. I’ll keep trying despite the pain. I will persist despite the struggles, because we are all suffering everywhere.

We’re going to keep on fighting, keep on swimming, to keep on standing tall.

Here’s to another day, so be kind always. Though tomorrow is not promised, there’s always room to make today better.
